FRANKIE FIRE ready to set the South African music scene alight… and
MORE!

Frankie Fire is the newest hot property rock/pop band to hit the South African music scene.

The 4-member band may be less than one year old but, with more than 30 years combined musical-and touring experience between them, and some fresh tunes on tap, they’re already hunting headlines!

With their hit single, “Pretty Girls”, off their album “Seven”, already resounding across the airwaves, the band is set to become a massive hit! It's currently number 1 on the TuksFM SA TOP 10 and has started charting on campus stations across South Africa. The music video for Pretty Girls has recently started showing on MK to much acclaim.

They’ve been compared to the likes of A-King, Arno Carstens, The Foo Fighters and Kings of Leon, but Frankie Fire brings a powerful and distinctly unique sound to the party – with songs about life, love and everything between.

Francois du Toit (lead vocals & guitar), Heinrich Pelser (acoustic & electric guitar), Francois de Bruin Meyer (bass) and Fred Helliwell (drums) create songs that often start out with no more than just “one cool line”, but always tell a story to an undertone of anything from hard rock, to pop rock, to punk- and melodic rock. The songs are, as the band describes it, “an exciting fusion resulting from their various musical interests."

“If you like rock music, there’s no doubt that you’ll like it!”

Frankie Fire was formed in late 2009 after Heinrich Pelser and Francois Du Toit got together for a few jams and quickly realised they enjoyed writing together. After a few months and tons of songs they invited Fred and Francois De Bruin Meyer to form Frankie Fire. The band spent the last half of 2009 perfecting the set and finishing preproduction on their first EP.

Though Francois dT and Heinrich still do most of the writing, many of the song on their album were co-written by all the members of the band. “We don’t write to achieve a certain style… we also don’t write with a specific audience in mind… we simply write what we feel. We put songs on our CD that WE like.

If people enjoy our tunes and each of them takes their own meaning from the lyrics, that’s ‘mission accomplished’.”

The guys from Frankie Fire are destined for chart-topping success, but for the moment they just enjoy the creative freedom of playing whatever they want and expressing themselves musically – jamming it up in a in a group that’s anything but “just another band”.

In their own words: “Every band wants one thing: for their song to be on the radio. When that happens for Frankie Fire, it’s awesome, but we simply like making music and have people get a kick out of listening to it! All things said and done, we just wanna play!!”

What’s next for Frankie Fire? “Well for now we’ll keep gigging, writing songs and enjoy doing what we love"
